Fabulous Classical Concerts in Lanzarote!Submitted by Mike on Sat, 01/23/2010 - 18:14 |
World renowned industrialist and patron of the arts Sir Ernest Hall has converted some old camel houses on his property in Mácher to create a wonderful concert hall. The hall seats just 100 people, and musical director Paul Crossley has come up with a novel way of accommodating fans who want to enjoy 20 or so top class artists at concerts scheduled throughout the year.
Instead of selling individual tickets to each show, people are being asked to become "Amigos" of The Camel House Concerts. For a modest annual fee, club members will be able to attend all the concerts.
We met Paul and his partner John Brakband at the Camel House, which is a beautifully restored traditional 300 year old building. Members will be able to enjoy the gardens with a glass of wine prior to each concert, and the list of artists who are already booked is a great credit to Sir Ernest and Paul's pulling power!
