Kerman, who owns and runs the well known tapas bars Repikada and La Pikada in Costa Teguise is expanding his empire to include Playa Honda. He’s taken over the old O’Pote restaurant on the main road going towards Deiland.
The new Repikada opens today, and will offer good food at low prices – including pinchos and various tapas dishes.
Pinchos are small servings of meat or fish that have been grilled on wooden sticks. Tapas is literally a “small dish” of anything, but here in The Canaries the more common dishes are sizzling prawns with garlic, Estofado (a meat stew), ensalada Rusia (a potato salad with tuna), and the famous wrinkly Canarian Potatos or Papas Canarias.
Tapas is a great tradition – a small dish with each drink while relaxing and chatting with friends.
